Upgrading the motor

One issue I encountered with my previous build was that the motor was not powerful enough. Furthermore, I wish to have a motor controller that can be used. For this, I bought a motor controller and a new motor.

I decided to get a 12v 10000rpm motor because it was easily accessible, stronger and faster than the previous one. I also bought a 12v battery to power this.

One thing I’ve seen with this new motor is it’s too fast on strings, making them bend out of tune. Half power is nice on the motor, meaning I should look for a motor that is around 5000rpm instead.

I taped the shaft to create a makeshift pick that works extremely well (the best so far). It’s very soft but, due to the speed of the motor, excites the strings well. Also, I don’t think it will break the string easily because of its softness.
