Dealing with ocularcentrism
ocularcentrism is where vision is preferred over every other sense. This is apparent in western culture where what you see is more important than how it sounds, feels, tastes or smells. Dealing with this issue as an artist forces my work to be visual in some way, even if it’s just cover art. An example of this is on my youtube channel, I try and create videos for each song, sometimes just having a static image of the cover art or creating something more complex. When creating something complex, I either film footage and edit it like a normal video or use audio generated graphics using software such as magic visuals.
